About Colin Gordon MSC
Having been involved in a number of different sports from a teenager, specifically heavy contact sports such as rugby and judo, Colin became very aware how even minor injuries can be problematic. Recovery from these injuries isn’t always an easy process especially within the confines of what can be provided by your local GP. As a result he developed an interest in the types of treatment available outside of the GP’s surgery in order to minimize the time out from playing that any injury can cause.
Having achieved a MSc and been working in the water industry for several years he decided to retrain as a deep tissue massage therapist, having been recommended to see one himself for a lower leg injury. This opened his eyes to how interconnected the areas of the body are and how deep tissue massage can help correct these related problems. On finishing his training with the Scottish Massage Schools Colin gained a Diploma in Advanced Remedial Massage and started working as a deep tissue massage therapist. Working with both sports people and the general public Colin has dealt with a both a wide range of conditions and people, from national level athletes to pensioners. The aim is the same with everybody, to minimize the time the problem area is affecting their quality of life regardless of whether that is the their ability to train for the next game or carry the shopping in from the car. He has at different times worked with the Riverdance troupe on their last visit to Edinburgh. Other events Colin has worked at include the British Police Federation Squash Championships, the British Drug-Free Powerlifting Championships, the European Drug-Free Powerlifting championships, the Gullane Triathalon and Edinburgh Marathon. |
